Speaker Module A: The ClimXtreme research programme determines the influence of climate change on extreme weather events, which has not yet been clearly identified.
Module A of ClimXtreme analyses the relevant processes and mechanisms that decisively determine the occurrence of meteorological extreme events. The aim is to better understand how these mechanisms are altered by climate change in the past and in the future and how the uncertainties in the description of future developments can be reduced. In particular, heavy precipitation, heat waves, droughts and storms will be studied.
